Jean-Claude Campana is an french painter, who has been painting for more than thirty years, started his career by exhibiting together with Baboulène, Buffet, Hilaire, Brayer...
The approach of these Masters encourages the talent of Campana, who already in his youth, builds up a strong character. Strengthened by his expérience in surrealism, symbolism and realism, Jean-Claude Campana has been devoted to Venice since about a fifteen years, in a very personal style.

The succession of glacis really capture the light, to compose scenes of a theatrical complexity, where realism and dream intermingle with a lot of romantism.

Like an appearance, imaginary persons, often female, stroll along the lagoon, dressed with elegant hairstyles and somptuous old costumes.

The evanescence of precious tissus, floats in the foreground of these venitian scenes, filled with surrealistic perfumes, that seem to be exalted by a mystic breeze. Like if a force, superior to reason, illuminated the lagoon city with its presence. By travelling all over Venice, Jean-Claude Campana succeeds to escape from reality, to create fascinating works, able to awake the mysteries of the lagoon.
