The Amazon Rainforest covers 1.7 billion acres. It is located within nine different nations: Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela. The Amazon makes up over half of the earth's remaining rainforests, and is the largest and most species-rich tropical rainforest in the world.
