His paintings are represented in many galleries and private collections in Europe, USA, Canada and Hong Kong.
Beauty in our lives seems to be fading away more and more. What prevails is the ugly, the destructive, the horrible, the kitsch and the deliberate attempt to draw people's attention by means of a trick, a provocative cynicism and pretence. That is why when people find themselves in front of the art works of Stefan Georgiev, which radiate authenticity, pure beauty and natural and innocent simplicity, they can't do anything but admire them silently and inwardly surprised at first and later express their joy verbally over their rarer and rarer encounters with true art. Some of the key and constant feelings that his paintings inspire are the ones of warmth, naturalness, optimism and love of life. The predominant colours are those of read, yellow, orange, golden, green, turquoise -colours which dispel anything icy, cold and unnatural. In many of the paintings a light centre can be noticed- that could be in the form of the familiar solar sphere or else accentuated by the very colours used in the painting. As if after every vicissitude of fortune in anybody's life, you are always met by the good, happy and bright light. The artist places the act and experience of living in its most natural and implicit environment- nature, present everywhere with its amazing flowers, leaves, trees, colours and with the sun, a source of life and a reason for its existence. Optimism and faith in life generate another key idea which runs through Stefan's works- the initial and intransient value of creativity. Without it life is inconceivable, loses its importance and purpose. The artist recreates that particular idea through the traditional imagery of fertility- fruits like the apple and the pomegranate, the sunflower, the fish that lays an infinite number of eggs but most notably through the image of the woman. As it is the case with every classical and intransient art, the woman is a central image in Stefan's paintings. Although she wears different mythological, religious and legendary masks (Europe, Eva, the Virgin Mary, the Muses, the Slavonic wood-nymphs, etc), she is real and authentic because it is represented in its true life roles: a mother, a beloved, a protectress, a saint. Along these ones, other images and symbols can be identified and they render a historical and diachronic perspective to the compositions: antique columns, crosses, keys, ancient heroes and mythological creatures and personalities (Adam, Icarus, Heracles, Athena's owl, the lovers from the Song of Songs of Solomon). As we move from one painting to another before our eyes unfolds a feast of beauty, of the joy of life and the deep reverence to the eternal and invulnerable human values. All that represented through the decorative expressive media of the secession tradition which the artist has mastered to perfection, enriching it with his personal experience of the his native tradition, with his own wisdom and sensitivity. Tradition and personality, beuty and authenticity, attractiveness and warmth, masterful skills and naturalness- all that gathered in a couple of square metres of canvas and paper...
