An army intelligence officer attends to Hideki Tojo, the prime minister of Japan during WWII. Tojo attempted to shoot himself in the heart as U.S. troops approached his residence to arrest him. The bullet missed his heart and instead went through his stomach. Tojo made a full recovery before being tried, found guilty of war crimes, and executed.

This is Queen Elizabeth during her WWII service.

Frances Glessner Lee (March 25, 1878 – Jan. 27, 1962) a chicago native was a millionaire heiress. Her an her brother were homeschooled but she was not allowed to attend college. It wasn't until she was 52 before she took steps to starting her career path. Revolutionizing the study of crime scene investigation, She founded and funded Harvard's department of legal medicine. ( The first program in the nation for forensic pathology ).
Glessner was a fan of the Sherlock Holmes series and her perfectionism can be reflected in her family upbringing. Her father was a collector of fine furniture and antiques, and the family home is now a museum.
Known as " The Nutshell Studies of the Unexplained ", in the 1930's Glessner created dollhouses in replica of homicides to help detectives in training. Before DNA, and CSI we had dollhouses. These surreal like homes had doll corpses as victims and blood stains in great and gory details. Glessner would go to extreme lengths to insinuate realisticness which has proven to be effective till this day.

THEY CALLED IT the Doll’s House, and it was a beautiful Georgian building that was at one time home to a City Sheriff.

Where was it? On the corner of Bachelor’s quay and Grattan Street in Cork city, until it was demolished on 18 July 1966 due to being deemed to be unsafe.

The last owners of the house, which was by then in a state of disrepair, had offered the house to the Irish Georgian Society and Cork Corporation for the nominal rent of one shilling per year. Both bodies refused the offer as the cost of restoring the house was estimated at £30,000, an enormous sum of money in those days.
